To: Connecticut's United States Senators, Members of Congress, Governor, and State Legislators

We, the undersigned residents of Connecticut, respectfully call upon our elected officials to reaffirm their support for the State of Israel and for the enduring alliance between the United States and the Israeli people.

Israel is America’s Closest Ally in the Middle East

For over seven decades, Israel has stood as a steadfast partner of the United States — sharing intelligence, cooperating on defense, advancing joint technological innovation, and upholding the democratic values that bind our two nations. The U.S.–Israel alliance has made both countries safer and stronger, and it deserves the support of every Connecticut representative.

The Only Western Democracy in the Middle East

Israel is the sole liberal democracy in a turbulent region — a nation with free elections, an independent judiciary, a free press, and equal rights under the law for Arab citizens, women, and religious minorities. In a neighborhood dominated by authoritarian regimes and terrorist organizations, Israel represents the values America has always championed abroad. Supporting Israel is supporting democracy itself.

Israel Has Repeatedly Offered Peace

The historical record is clear: Israel has made repeated, far-reaching offers of a two-state solution — in 2000 at Camp David and again in 2008 — each time offering the Palestinians a state of their own. Each time, those offers were rejected and met with violence. Israel has demonstrated time and again that it desires a peaceful, negotiated resolution. Yet, Iran and its proxies do not hide their uncompromising intentions to annihilate Israel and her people. The burden of peace cannot rest on Israel alone.

Our Call to Action

We urge our Connecticut elected officials to:

• Publicly stand with Israel and its right to defend itself

• Oppose any measure that undermines the U.S.–Israel alliance

• Condemn terrorism and support efforts to hold accountable those who target Israeli civilians

• Support continued U.S. security cooperation with Israel

As your constituents, we are watching — and we will remember. History will judge those who stood with democracy, and those who did not.
